Sus diversos colores conjugan con el paisaje del fondo, descansan en las aguas del mar mientras esperan el próximo viaje de pesca, algunos izan la bandera nacional luciendo sus hermosos colores, su misión es la de transportar a los pescadores en las profundas aguas del mar durante la jornada de trabajo, elaborados en madera por manos trabajadoras, a los botes de pesca también los conocemos como peñeros.
