La Plaza Colón esta ubicada en el centro de la localidad Carupanera, a sus alrededores se ubica una gran cantidad de locales comerciales, al frente la iglesia Santa Catalina, es un lugar donde los Carupaneros suelen recrearse, pasar el tiempo sentado a sus alrededores es una costumbre, sobre todo de aquellas personas que asisten al centro del al ciudad a realizar alguna diligencia y deciden descansar mientras se acerca la hora de regresar a sus hogares, también se reúnen con fines recreativos, y para entablar una conversación amena con alguien conocido, a los alrededores se sitúan algunos vendedores de comida ambulante, es un lugar de referencia por excelencia del pueblo Carupanero.
