La plaza Colon en Carúpano queda ubicada en el centro de la ciudad, es la plaza mas céntrica a pesar que la que debería ocupar el lugar céntrico en todas las poblaciones del país es la plaza de nuestro libertador Simón Bolivar, siendo esta una característica muy particular del pueblo Carupanero, y uno de sus principales atractivos turísticos e histórico, actualmente la estatua de Cristóbal Colon se encuentra resguardada en el Museo Histórico de Carúpano después de que el gobernador saliente en un delirio de poder mandara a quitar la estatua de su pedestal.
