Lydia at Lincoln cathedral
Isn’t it strange, that you can live in a place for so long and still be surprised by things you had never heard of before. Earlier in the week I went with a good friend to shoot with a locally based model. Lydia has lived in Lincoln for three years. Just while she has been attending Uni.

We met up near Lincoln’s major tourist attraction – the magnificent cathedral (I will get some shots of this incredible building on another post). Living locally, I have done all the major touristy things – the Cathedral, the castle, the art gallery etc, but I haven’t done the open top bus, the trip down the river nor the ghost walk.

As we were walking from location to location Lydia - who, during her short time here has done more of the guided tours than I ever have - kept us regaled with stories of ghosts and hangings and murders that I had never heard of, but informed me of a grisly past that I was totally unaware of. But I guess that is true of a lot of towns and cities, their dark hidden past.

Thankfully, the shoot was a lot brighter than Lydia’s gloom ridden tales, with her gloriously vibrant red head and selection of hippy styled outfits. We spent an entertaining couple of hours in the sun, walking the streets and shooting round Lincoln’s historic Cathedral Quarter (that never used to be a *thing *when I was growing up, but it seems like most cities now have “quarters)”. I like to think I got some half decent shots, but then I am easily pleased,
