Rescue Diary - Sweet special needs Bruce goes to his forever family

Another weekend and another chance to help with transporting a special needs dog. Old Man Bruce is a 10 or 12 year old Pittie who was finally on his way to his forever home up in Colorado.

The poor old guy had been with the rescue since February of last year and like the other dogs in Be Like Josh Bruce had obviously suffered from some neurological damage in his past as his gait was unsteady and his depth perception seemed poor. Nevertheless he was a sweetheart and immediately was giving me kisses when we got him loaded up for our leg of his transport.

It would be a 4+ hour trip for us as we were covering 3 legs of this 3 state transport. Bruce made himself right at home in the back with me while Lulu was co-pilot up front (all the while keeping her eye on Bruce to make sure he didn't get too much attention from me).

As is the case in all my rescue transports the time with our special passenger always seems to pass by all too quickly and soon we were at our drop off spot on the New Mexico line in Lupton.
Bruce enjoyed one last walk with us and even Lulu was good enough to get some Pittie kisses from Bruce - and then he was away towards his overnight in Albuquerque.

The next day lucky Bruce met his new family in northern New Mexico for the last part of his trip and the start of his new life.
Hopefully he will have years of joy, love and happiness 💖💖💖💖💖
