Princess Peach heads East to her forever home

in pets •  last year

It took a couple of weeks and we'll over 2000 miles but sweat little Peach the rottie puppy finally finished her cross-country trek from California to her new family in New York.

Peaches was just a tiny puppy when she was rescued in California and she was still only 4 months old when Roscoes Rescues found her an adopter in New York....
and her new adventure was set to begin.

As usual we ended up picking up 3 sections of her route since drivers weren't available to help out here in Arizona and western New Mexico. So it was going to be another long, long day on the road but the long hours and hundreds of miles seem to fade away when we're helping out with a dog rescue.

It didn't take Peaches but a few minutes with us to make herself at home in the car and her puppy curiosity and sweetness soon had her exploring every inch of the back seats and baggage (much to the annoyance of our Lulu who at least gave her a sniff and lick and didn't growl).

Of course being a puppy meant that Peaches went full blast from a playful and rambunctious pup to a chowhound to sound asleep seemingly all at once. I was glad that I got to sit in back with her for the first half of our trip and get to enjoy all of her puppy sweetness.

Even though we had the joy of Peache's company for over 4 hours and enjoyed every minute of her puppiness it was a sad moment when we had to hand her off to the next driver for her trip to her first overnight in Albuquerque.

So ended another rescue trek for me, just one of the close to 200 that I have done through the years. Princess Peach truly was a princess and I hope that she is enjoying her new home with her big Rottweiler family and I hope she has many happy years ahead.

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 ears or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖

Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
