Buddy, the big lovable Black Lab that we had met in February on a rescue transport to a foster family here in AZ after his original owner had passed away, had been adopted and now needed help getting from AZ up to his now forever home on the shores of Lake Superior.
It was good to see that Buddy had gained some weight these past few months and he was just as lovable and affectionate as ever when we met him (again 😁😁😁) early in the morning as we prepared for a 5 hour trip up and over to New Mexico where he would meet his next driver.
Of course, being a Lab meant that Buddy was a big lovable lug who wanted lots of attention (and more than a few snacks).
Lulu, as usual, was her ruff and gruff I'm the Boss girl but quickly warmed up to her old friend who she probably fondly remembered from our first meeting in February.
She even hopped into the back seat to sit with him for a bit before resuming her role as co-pilot dog and leaving me in back to enjoy Buddy's company and give him plenty of love as we made our way towards the New Mexico border where we would hand him off.
As is always the case with these transports, the miles might be long but they pass all too quickly and the 5 hours we had with Buddy were soon coming to an end as we pulled into Gallup in NM and prepared to say goodbye
Buddy's adventure was to continue for another 2 days and over a thousand miles as he made his way to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and his new home.
He would be surrounded by lush forests and just a few miles from Lake Superior. No doubt he will have kany happy adventures to the lake, snowy days as well as years filled with love and a caring family ❤️.
Best of luck Buddy.

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
