I've been involved with dog rescues for almost 10 years - mostly with transports and some fosters when we had our house. Now that we all full-time living in a motor home it's lots of driving to help these lucky souls find there way to new homes and hopefully long and happy lives.
An email from an old rescue coordinator friend last week was the start of another drive through Arizona to help out some SPECIAL puppies in need.
Dusty, Ned and Lucky
These 3 puppies were in need of help to get from Arizona to a rescue in Idaho that specializes in caring for special needs dogs - Double J Dog Ranch, Inc.
These tender little pups were both vision and hearing impaired and probably would not have survived without the help of some wonderful volunteers.
This was my information for the transport and we would go from Flagstaff to Kingman, AZ which is a familiar and well-travelled route for us.

The rescue folks handed off their precious cargo and it was time to hit the highway 🚗 🚗 🚗
The puppies were thought to only be able to see shapes and only hear loud noises but them didn't seem to be aware as their curiosity and love of company and adventure had them quickly wandering out of their crate to explore this new place and people.
Typical little puppies - interested in everything and looking for love.
Perhaps their disability was partially a result of a form of albinism with their white coats and pale blue eyes. They might have vision problems but they were able to move around in our car without a problem - and those eyes were so, so beautiful.
💘 Puppy love 💘
We could have spent days with these little furry sweethearts but sadly the miles and hours seemed to pass all too quickly and then it was time to say goodbye
By now they will hopefully settled into their new home and have a great time socializing with the other special dogs up at Double J.
We miss them already but look forward to updates on their life.
