Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

Dear fellow friend,
I hope you are very well and healthy by the grace of Allah. I am also very well and healthy with your prayers By the grace of Almighty Allah and your prayers.

Bribery is considered a grave offense in both Islamic teachings, as outlined in the Quran and Hadith. The Quran, the holy book of Islam, and the Hadith, the sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), provide clear guidance on ethical conduct and emphasize the importance of justice, honesty, and integrity.

In the Quran, numerous verses highlight the significance of justice and condemn corrupt practices such as bribery. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:188) warns against consuming each other's wealth unjustly, indicating the prohibition of any form of dishonest gain, including bribery. The Quran emphasizes the principle of justice as a cornerstone of Islamic ethics, calling believers to stand firmly for justice, even if it is against themselves or their close relatives (Surah An-Nisa 4:135).

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) further elucidated the prohibition of bribery through his sayings and actions, as recorded in the Hadith. One notable Hadith reports the Prophet's stern warning: "May the curse of Allah be upon the one who gives a bribe and the one who takes it" (Sunan Ibn Majah). This clear denouncement reflects the severity of bribery in Islam.

The concept of bribery contradicts the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability promoted in Islamic teachings. It undermines the trust within society and can lead to the erosion of justice. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the detrimental effects of bribery on the community, warning that it would lead to the collapse of social order and the disintegration of moral values.

In addition to the spiritual consequences, bribery has legal repercussions in Islam. The Sharia, Islamic law, views bribery as a violation of justice and an encroachment upon the rights of others. Islam places a strong emphasis on upholding the rights of individuals and maintaining social equilibrium. The act of bribery disrupts this balance and hinders the establishment of a just and equitable society.

Islamic scholars and jurists have consistently condemned bribery, considering it a form of corruption that corrodes the moral fabric of society. They have derived legal rulings from Quranic verses and Hadith, concluding that bribery is incompatible with the principles of Islam. These scholars stress the importance of individuals adhering to ethical behavior and avoiding any engagement in corrupt practices.

The Quran and Hadith also provide guidance on how to combat bribery and corruption within society. In Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:8), believers are instructed to stand firmly for justice and not let hatred for certain people lead them away from being just. This directive extends to all aspects of life, including economic transactions and dealings where bribery might be attempted.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) set a personal example by maintaining honesty and integrity in all his dealings. His impeccable character serves as a model for Muslims to emulate, reinforcing the importance of ethical conduct in both private and public spheres. The Hadith narrates instances where the Prophet rejected any form of bribery and emphasized the sanctity of justice.

Efforts to eradicate bribery align with the broader Islamic goal of fostering a just and equitable society. In Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13), the Quran emphasizes the diversity of people and tribes as a sign of Allah's wisdom. This diversity is not meant for discrimination but rather as a basis for mutual understanding and cooperation. Bribery, as a form of injustice, disrupts this harmony and violates the principles of equality and fairness.

Islamic teachings encourage individuals to cultivate a sense of responsibility and accountability. Muslims are called upon to be conscientious stewards of their resources, ensuring that wealth is acquired through lawful means and utilized for the betterment of society. The Quran discourages any form of exploitation and condemns those who amass wealth through unjust means, including bribery.

Bribery is unequivocally condemned in Islam, as articulated in the Quran and Hadith. The ethical principles outlined in these foundational texts emphasize the importance of justice, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of life. Bribery not only violates these principles but also has far-reaching consequences on both an individual and societal level. Muslims are called upon to uphold these values, contributing to the establishment of a just and harmonious community based on transparency, fairness, and accountability.
