A Spontaneous Day, Two Years Ago

photo1 5.jpg

This time, two years ago, when I decided to just get up and drive 3 hours south the the beach in winter. It was a pretty mild day, I remember, and the sun was out most of the day. It was colder down south than in London thought, so I had my coat on throughout and I sure as heck never touched the sea.

There were crazy people in the water though. I remember watching them and part thinking they were all nuts, but part envying them at the same time for being such free spirits for swimming in the sea in winter.

It was a very spontaneous day. We were just hearing the COVID news from out of China, and slowly Italy, at the time. I decided I wanted to go to the beach, so I just got into the car and drove down there. I sat there all by myself, had some coffee watching the waves, walked up and down the promenade, had some fish and chips, and drove back to London. All in all, it was about 6 hours of driving, but it was worth it.

Haha. I can imagine. I'm not usually very spontaneous 🤣

The most random thing I ever did which, I think is a bit worse was driving out in the snow on a whim to take photos and getting stuck down a random off road road, that had no option to turn around and I ended up having To get towed out and stuck there for hours with my phone battery dead; before the invention of in car chargers 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. This would ever happen to me. I'd have opted for a hot coffee and some DVDs from Blockbusters or something... with some Dominos Pizza.
