La odisea de tener mi pasaporte. ESP-ENG

We will not always have things just by asking for them, and depending on the country we are in or the country we are from, it will be faster or with more setbacks.

I have been living in Chile for more than 4 years, and I needed my Venezuelan passport to be able to travel to Venezuela to meet my family. Right there my odyssey began because, somehow, Saime, which is the system that is responsible for granting the appointments to obtain the passport, is "saturated" and the appointment does not reach any user unless they pay a manager (person in charge of expediting the procedures) so that the process is less long and less traumatic.

I had already waited for almost two years, so I looked for a way to pay someone to help me with the appointment. When it arrived, my husband and I organized things so that someone could receive me in the capital and take me to the Venezuelan embassy.

I don't know much about the capital, and that is the reason I had to need someone to guide me on my journey; For this purpose, my husband spoke with his cousin who lives in that city, and he gladly agreed to take me to the place so that he could do my paperwork.

The whole process inside the embassy was very fast; Inside the enclosure, I met other people who, at the end of their process, would go to the same passenger terminal that I was going to, so we all went together while we told each other anecdotes about our country and our cities. They were excellent guides and companions on my return trip.

So, I did my paperwork very quickly, I met new people and I celebrated with my husband when I got home with an original Cuban mojito. Thanks to this, I was able to travel to my country and share with whom I was about 4 years old without hugging them.

I thank God for all this.

A song that I really like and that I want to share is the one by the singer Ricardo Arjona called ** "My girlfriend is getting old" **, dedicated to her mother, and that I dedicated to mine.

She is my girlfriend since I can remember
Good love since I saw her
I already had a space in my notebook
To paint her name and show off.
He loved me when on the brink of the goal
I came penultimate in the marathon
He loves me as insensitively or as a poet
A genius, a minister, or a jester.
My girlfriend is getting old
And she's having a little trouble walking
Three months without coming and she on a tray
She serves another coffee for her love.
My girlfriend is getting old
And I was beginning to fall in love
From the weight of the things she advises
Of her universal gift of forgiveness.
She is my girlfriend, and she does not go around with blackmail
Neither she nor she sets fidelity rules
She has pandered to every character
Regardless of exclusivity.
She loves me the same if I go as a guerrilla
Or I win the Nobel Peace Prize
She doesn't care if I go last or first
If I am conformist or tenacious.
My girlfriend is getting old
And she's having a little trouble walking
Three months without coming and she on a tray
She serves another coffee for her love.
My girlfriend is getting old
And I was beginning to fall in love
From the weight of the things she advises
Of her universal gift of forgiveness.
My girlfriend always has a plate on
In case one day I plan to return
And she prepared a budget in the bank
In case she might one day need it.
There is no curve that keeps me from my girlfriend
If she never had a maybe on her lips
And although the analogy is already so obvious
You will know that I speak only to you, mom.
