In other times
En otros tiempos
In homage to that old box of images that accompanied me in my childhood and that became one of my greatest treasures throughout my life. That old filing trunk was full of photographs of my grandfather, many of them were family portraits, while others were landscape or artistic, especially images of my hometown, Ourense. When he was a child he played with them between cuttlefish and black and white, he classified them and arranged them by date, he tried to get my genealogy and asked my grandfather to explain it to me. His camera was a magical object, he obsessively attracted me more than my favorite toys. My grandfather told me about it and explained to me how it works, how it works and parts of it, those lessons, he eagerly awaits them and it is one of my greatest photographic and learning experiences.
When he was preparing these images in photo editing, those experiences from when I was little came to mind. The satisfaction and the number of hours spent with that magnificent collection of old photographs never failed to entertain me. It was a powerful force that abducted me and took me in each of the portraits or images to other times but in which I lived. I felt that they were part of my own life and I lived and contemplated some of them as if I were included in them.
In this tribute I will publish some photographs that remind me of some of the ones I have as their photographic jewels, in fact for me they are. They are not just simple old photographs but they are an important part of my legacy, of my family, of keeping the memory of my grandfather alive and for me this becomes an exercise to do and that I will leave others to come behind.
