Hello good day/morning depending on your time and location, friends I’m here again today to tell you little about what life is like, my name is Lebechi Uche, but most people know me as Lilbizyl. I’m a young Nigerian navigating the tough realities of balancing life as a student in a higher institution
Just a regular selfie
I’m just a regular Nigerian youth trying hard to figure life out, balancing school, work and surviving too. Right now, I’m a student in a Nigerian higher institution, and if you know what that’s like, you already understand how draining it can be long strikes, unstable calendars, pressure from all sides and yet, you’re expected to "focus."
But I couldn’t just sit and wait for things to get better. Over a year ago, I decided to dive into freelancing and Web3. I started small very small earning small $6 from little gigs I found on random platforms. It wasn’t easy though, but slowly, with consistency and late nights of self learning this things, I grew that to $1000 in less than a year.
Evidence of what i received last year from a freelancing job I did
After making that first good sum, I didn’t waste it. I invested in my tools a laptop, a phone, and power bank because that was my office. Just like any businessperson needs tools and products, I needed those to work and grow. But then life humbled me. One day, I went to write a test and when I came back, everything was gone. Stolen. Just like that, I lost everything I had worked so hard for.
It broke me for a moment. But giving up wasn’t an option. I had to rebuild from scratch with even more hunger and extreme effort. I went back to grinding, applying, learning, and putting myself out there every single day.
To let you know that money didn’t just go into my pocket. It helped me pay bills, sort school expenses, buy materials and provide for myself when no one else could. Freelancing literally became a lifeline.
But let me be real with you it’s not glamorous. Every day, I’m on the internet searching for opportunities. Most jobs require a fancy CV, years of experience, or qualifications I just don’t have yet. I constantly have to filter through scams, ridiculously low paying jobs and roles that either demand too much or pay too little.
Working from home sounds like the dream for a student flexible, affordable, and stress-free. But finding legit, well-paying remote jobs is one of the hardest things out here. Sometimes it feels like shouting into the void, hoping someone, somewhere, will give you a chance without asking for what you can’t offer yet.
But I’m still here. I’m still grinding. I’m still learning. I’m still applying. I’m still sending proposals. I’m still building my skills in Web3, crypto, and digital freelancing. Because one thing I’ve learned? Consistency and patience eventually pay off.
If you’re reading this and you’re on the same journey a student, a hustler, trying to survive online without connections or certificates just know you’re not alone. Keep showing up. Opportunities will come, slowly but surely.
And if you’ve made it this far reading my story, thank you. It’s not perfect, but it’s real.
I’m Lilbizyl, and this is me, still figuring it out, one step at a time.
