I consider myself to be quite a liberal person, even to the point where it annoys me that people call progressives 'liberal' when, in fact, they are overly sensitive authoritarians. Even considering myself to be liberal, I can never get behind the progressive transgender movement.
Don't get me wrong, I think adults should be able to mutilate their own bodies if they see fit. They also should take all the drugs they want and basically do almost anything they want so long as they don't violently harm another person through physical violence. I have a strong libertarian approach to some aspects of social issues, but the way that progressives have been arguing for certain issues has really turned me away from being a pure libertarian. I grew up very libertarian and it's funny that it is the other "liberals" that are making me go more conservative.
There are things that I must put my foot down on and below I will share my thoughts about what I don't like about the progressive's trans movement and what my stances are on very controversial subtopics on Trans issues.
- Free speech is demonized as being right-wing hate speech, in order to protect the soft sensibilities of progressive movements.
- Underaged children cannot consent to body mutilation.
- Underaged people should not be taking more hormonal treatments.
- Adults should be the only ones allowed to have "gender-affirming" surgery.
If the trans movement can resolve some of these issues then I think we can progress as a nation peacefully.
I have taken a personal pledge to not get any western medical treatments or care. They are poisoning us. Nothing more so than the field of psychology, which has been conditioning us to believe the most preposterous things for 100 years now, such as hormone "therapy" for children. All drugs destroy both mental and physical health. Every time someone takes one of these drugs, they poison the earth. Stay away from those quacks. They are trying to kill us. What better way than to sterilize our children?
What trans people do with their bodies is no different from what straight people do with our bodies, there are people who consume substances that harm their body such as alcohol, tobacco and drugs, also people who get piercings or tattoos.
I think any adult person can do whatever they want with their body, as long as they don't hurt someone else. Nor force others to agree 100%.
As you mentioned, I don't like how they want to get children into this. They are children, their opinion may change when they grow up and mature. And there it will be irreversible if they have made any changes to their body.
I don't like inclusive language, it seeks to change all the words of the language, which is not good for speech, because it can cause confusion in children who are learning to speak. In addition, it is exclusive, they do it so that the community feels satisfied. But, the others are left out of it. I don't like it, I don't feel identified with the terms. I am a woman, I want to be referred to as a woman, not as an indefinite gender. I don't feel comfortable with it.
