The United States has banned Russian oil, gas and coal imports, while Britain and other European Union countries have also decided to boycott oil and gas exports from Russia.
The United Kingdom has said it will reduce its dependence on Russian oil by the end of the year and is looking for alternatives.
This raises the question of why the world is so dependent on Russian oil and gas and how many oil and gas reserves are there in which country of the world?
Russia has 107.8 million barrels of oil and 37.4 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, according to British oil giant BP.
According to BP, Venezuela has the most oil in the world. Venezuela currently has an estimated 303.8 million barrels of oil. Saudi Arabia has 297.5 million barrels of oil reserves.
Canada has 168.1 million barrels of oil reserves, Iran 157.8 million, Kuwait 101.5 million, the United Arab Emirates 97.8, the United States 68.8, Iraq 145 and Libya 48.4 million barrels.
The rest of the world has 235.7 million barrels of oil reserves.
Gas reserves
According to BP, Russia currently has 37.4 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, while Iran has 32.1 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves.
Qatar has 24.7 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, Venezuela 6.3 trillion, Saudi Arabia 6, UAE 5.9 trillion, Nigeria 5.5 trillion, Turkmenistan 13.6 trillion, US 12.6 trillion cubic meters and China 8.4 trillion cubic meters.
This information is very interesting, and it is amazing to know that Venezuela has so much oil and so much poverty as well.
