Two buildings bombed in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev

According to social media reports, explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv this morning.

A 12-story building in the Shevchenko district was bombed at 6 a.m., according to the city's emergency services, and officials said a nearby nine-story building was also damaged.

Videos circulating on social media show clouds of smoke rising from both buildings.

Authorities have warned that this is a "difficult and dangerous time" for the capital.
