North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey said the Women Twenty (W20) agenda which was held in Likupang, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, would be an advertisement for North Sulawesi tourism.
"For North Sulawesi, Likupang is one of the super priority tourism destinations that is ready to carry out international activities," said Olly in Manado, Thursday (17/2/2022).
International activities like this (W20), he said, the impact is not only felt by the provincial government but all the people. "When many people come and see here (Likupang), the economy will turn. They will come back and invest here," said Olly.
If the investment occurs, it will have an impact on the absorption of many workers and encourage tourism destinations around Likupang. "It will definitely boost the tourist attractions around here," he said.
According to Olly, holding the W20 in North Sulawesi, more countries will recognize the tourism potential in the province at the northern tip of Sulawesi. "W20 is an advertisement for North Sulawesi," he said.
The first agenda of W20 activities was carried out in Likupang, and will be continued to the next agenda to Batu (East Java), Banjarmasin and Papua and culminating in Dana Toba (North Sumatra).
