Najandig Zamboangita is a 45 minute drive south from Dumaguete. The road to Najandig is about 15km long and is part concrete, dirt and rock which can be difficult to pass in places after heavy rain. The hike though is along a dirt track and wasn’t difficult to walk along even after a little rain.
The views along the hike are stunning vast mountains and about half way up there is a steep trail down to a small waterfall. I wasn't informed by my friend about the morning hike, so to their surprised I came out wearing dress but I was abled to carried on to the top of the hill where we rested and enjoyed the views while we had a picnic.
Only day trips are allowed for safety reasons, it's very secluded and only few locals living there so it would be difficult to rescue such instances. There are other trails to explore but you will need a guide. The views are stunning from the top of the hill as well as along the hike so I think it is well worth a day to explore!
