I have tried applying mehndi on my elder sister's hands, I don't like it much but I like it, we all know about mehndi that women like to apply it on their hands and feet.

Henna is a means of adornment of the body used in South Asia. People apply it on hands, feet, arms etc. Since the 1990s, it has also come into practice in Western countries.

This is being practiced not only in this new era but from a long time ago. Even in today's time, all girls and women apply it with great fervor, not only girls and women, but many men are also very fond of mehndi. Because Mehndi is an integral part of women's makeup, without which every custom seems incomplete.

To apply it, the leaves of a plant/shrub called Henna are dried and ground for a long time. Then its paste is used. After a few hours, it hatches and gives a red-maroon color, which lasts for about a week.

People in Indian tradition usually apply mehndi during Hindu weddings and festivals such as Karva Chauth, Vat Purnima, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Navratri, Durga Puja and Teej. And Muslims in South Asia also apply Mehndi during Muslim weddings, festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Zuha.
