It is certainly obvious that many things about life make it cool, enjoyable and easier. Some of those things can be stuff like the access good roads, access to electricity, the invention of AI technologies, the availability of smart phones... Stuff like that.
Now, these things and more are certainly necessary in life. However, the problem with these is that some people are so bad when it comes to using things for the right reasons. Some people are only interested in causing mayhem, displaying acts of malevolence towards people and doing things that ruin their own lives.
In today's discussion, we will be looking at those stuff that are 'ruining' instead of 'helping'. You know, things that are accepted as part of the day-to-day lifestyle in our society even when it's fairly obvious that those things are leading people down a bad road.
They are;
Legalizing the Mass usage of Guns.
I'm not outrightly going to say that gun itself is a bad invention. Nope! I know the good use-case they offer and I know how important arms can be in safeguarding a country and its Citizens. The issue I'm raising is the idea of making it legal for just about anyone to get hold of a gun and parade around with it.
That's not a thing in my country and the death rate getting recorded each year from gunshots is quite alarming. Now, imagine what would be the case if we all knew we could walk around with gun(s) and not get in trouble for having it. It's something I wouldn't even want to imagine.
One of the popular statements I've heard from people who preach the arms legalization gospel is that "an armed society is a peaceful society". They say that because they believe that once everyone in society knows they can walk around with a gun, everyone will learn to respect themselves and act peacefully. Well, that's not working as expected.
Here is the big deal... Something as powerful as a gun should only be left for those who have their emotions in check. It should also be left to people who only use it to protect. Not someone that's trigger-happy. A random folk will open fire at someone else because the person is taking too long in a queue. That's exactly why legalizing the usage of guns should be considered a No-no.
Alcohol, Hard Drugs & Smokeables.
Those who enjoy any of these and take it excessively usually have something inspiring to see about the benefits attached to having these things. They can spend their last penny on alcohol, hard drugs and weed. And, once they take it, they switch off from everything happening around them. These things tend to decrease anxiety and boost dopamine.
Yeah! I've heard all about that and it's probably hard for me to see it as something good because I'm not a fan of any of the trio. What I know from experience is that I've seen too many people live miserable lives because they failed to control their intake of these stuff. If you've been around someone that's addicted to those, it will give you a fair taste of how deadly these things are.
Whatever the invention/lifestyle may be and whatever good they were meant to serve, it's obvious that they will always be counterproductive when exposed to some sort of people. It goes without saying that some good inventions are bad news in the wrong hands.
