On my recent blog, I showed you this newly opened restaurant here in Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines. I happened to pass by here and did not ate because I had some other things and just happened to just pass by the area. So today, we will finally try out this newest restaurant, the Overload Avenue.

Here is my way outside heading to work from my apartment. Once you reach the highway, you will indeed feel hungry from climbing up and down those stairs. What a daily exercise I indeed have.

Although I love my current location in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, the stairs in my apartment building have become a real issue. Despite being conveniently located near markets, malls, and fast food chains, I find myself stressed and exhausted every time I have to climb them. This is especially true when I'm heading to work in the early afternoon, under the scorching sun. While climbing the stairs may provide some exercise, it's usually more of a nuisance than anything, and I often find myself sweating and feeling uncomfortable. By the time I get home from work, I'm already exhausted and the thought of climbing the stairs is daunting. It's definitely not an ideal situation.

n my previous blog post, I mentioned that my beau is currently employed at one of the biggest restaurants in the Philippines, located in Lahug Cebu City. On the other hand, I am working at the largest consultancy agency in the world, which is also situated in Lahug, Cebu City. Interestingly, our workplaces are just a short distance away from each other, so we could easily meet up for lunch or a quick break. Today, we decided to try out this newly opened restaurant called Overload Avenue. We've been eyeing this place for a while now and it's been open for about a month already. It is our first time to try this restaurant.

This is what the outside of the restaurant looks like. There is a huge signage and it will be easy to locate this. Also, for those who are not familiar with the place, the restaurant is just across Cebu Aeronautical Technology School located at Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines.

To get here, just pass by the pedestrian lane near Cebu Aeronautical School and that’s it! You’ll reach the All-Prime Building and which is where the restaurant is.

We both share a passion for food and love exploring new food stalls and restaurants. One of our favorite pastimes is rating the dishes we try, and my beau , who works at one of the biggest restaurants in the Philippines is particularly adept at identifying areas for improvement. He always rates the foods we eat in different restaurants.

As a cook at one of the biggest restaurants in the Philippines, My beau has a keen ability to compare recipes and tastes of food from various restaurants. It's amusing when he points out the lacking salt, excess pepper, or other ingredients that could improve the dish. His meticulousness in taste is undoubtedly a reflection of his exceptional cooking skills.

I adore street arts and paintings so this caught my eye. The design is very captive.

What Filipinos Love The Most!

Rice is the staple food in the Philippines and us Filipinos eat rice in all of our meals so this is really a good deal if a restaurant offers unlimited rice. It is home to rice lovers.

There is my beau waiting for me to order foods and it took me some time because we were really torn as to what to eat because we definitely loved everything.

After five minutes of waiting, the food that we order arrived…

What a Brunch!

Going out to buy food can be a hassle sometimes, especially when you have to take the stairs to get in and out of your apartment. That's why I usually have brunch as my first meal of the day since I'm too lazy to cook or stock up on food without a refrigerator. Today's brunch was great, and I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. The food was delicious and well worth the price. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for groups looking to celebrate special occasions or have a nice meal out. They even offer unlimited rice, which can be a cost-saver. All in all, this is a great spot for those looking to dine out with friends or family.

Don Darco for 39 Pesos

After having just water during brunch, we decided to check out Don Macchiato's and try their famous Don Darco drink. At only 39 pesos, the drink exceeded our expectations and could easily compete with pricier brands. The store offers a variety of flavors, and all drinks are priced at 39 pesos each, making it an affordable option for anyone craving a cold beverage. It's no surprise that the place is always packed with customers.

On my way, I saw this husky brought by his fur parent heading inside the mall. Ayala Mall Central Bloc is a pet-friendly mall, and you could bring your fur babies here as long as you let them wear their diapers and put them on a leash. Every time I pass by a dog; whether it be any breed, it would make my day.

On my way to work, I swung by Ayala Mall Central Bloc to purchase a new cell phone charger from my favorite gadget store, DIY, which can be found on the second floor of the mall. Although the chargers and headsets may not be authentic, they are more affordable and still function just as well. As long as my phone charges quickly, I am content with my purchase. After grabbing my new charger, I made my way to work, which is only a brief 10-minute stroll from Ayala Mall.

Upon entering my workplace, I was delighted to see a tall and vibrant Christmas tree standing proudly in the front lobby. As I mentioned in my previous blog, the staff had been busy preparing for the holiday season, and their efforts have certainly paid off. The tree serves as a warm and festive welcome to all employees and visitors, helping to spread Christmas cheer throughout the workplace. I've always had a soft spot for this time of year - there's just something special about the season that brings joy and happiness to everyone.

Free Food At The Office Today!

As I went to the 20th floor where my office is situated, to my surprise, my company generously offered free meals to all employees today, consisting of delicious chicken and vegetable, paired with rice. Although I wasn't hungry at that moment, because I just had brunch at the Overload Avenue. I saved my free meal in my locker for later during my one hour lunch break.

My colleague reheated her food and enjoyed it right away. Although we weren't sure why our company provided free meals that day, I could definitely feel the spirit of Christmas in the air. It was heartwarming to see that our company values its employees and rewards us with special perks like this, and so much more.

It's possible that some employees won't find the free food provided by the company to their liking or may have higher expectations. However, it's important to remember that even small acts of kindness can make a big impact and should be appreciated.

After my colleague ate her food and after we had a chit-chat, we then went in the office to start our work. Ciao!☺︎♡
