As we passed through Kalutara town, we noticed a new restaurant that seemed to have recently opened. We decided to have lunch there on our way.

The restaurant is named "Cream Japanese Style Restaurant."

Situated facing the lake and railway track, the location's value is enhanced by the scenic view.

The building comprises two floors, and the seating arrangement is designed in the Japanese style. There are options to sit on the floor, and separate cubicle-like wooden areas are available for seating.

This was my first experience in a Japanese-style restaurant, so I was curious about everything.

Once seated, they provided us with the menu, and we ordered an Oyakodon Rice dish. As a backup, we also ordered a Mongolian rice dish in case we didn't like the first one.

The menu featured various Japanese dishes and dishes from other countries. Apart from the interior and menu, other elements such as service, waiter attire, and behavior were consistent with other normal restaurants in Sri Lanka.

While waiting for the food, we enjoyed a passion fruit mojito, which was superb! Despite the restaurant being spacious with plenty of diners, the atmosphere remained calm and controlled.

It took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. I was quite hungry, so I quickly took my first bite of the Oyakodon. It was really good, with a saucy texture and a different taste than the regular rice dishes we've tried. Harith had the Mongolian rice, and it was also very enjoyable.

Overall, our impression of this restaurant was positive, and I recommend giving it a try.

Don't know whether they have actual Japanese food taste.. But they are good.

I must admit that the restaurant looks quite minimalist.

The passion fruit mojito is my favorite, although I have also tried the original, the mango and the strawberry.

It's good to see they still go out to eat in other places.
