Yes Thailand was hot, then wet in the rainy season. Songkran was fun. I did learn to speak Thai, interesting experience indeed, @lucylin still lives over there.

From engineering to farmer.
Really? Where is @lucylin ? lol
All my farang "friends" have bought into the new fake - or have left.
Ask him, he is in the countryside, maybe oudhanthani, unsure, he does know Pattaya well.
Farang, not heard that for 7 years now. I am always a foreigner as I left my country of birth.
hah, I have 3 nationalities and everywhere tried to make me feel like a foreigner - now I really am one!
Don't give a shit - be an individual... and human, if possible.
The Polish have been good to me. They know I am from abroad, but have always treated me as a human, the Thais took the piss with always wanting more money, fake smiles, fake as they come.
Understanding thai culture is a lifelong confusion ! lol
Some of the nicest people (genuine) I've ever met , are Thai.
Me too, but not in Pattaya.
God no, that place is 'big city' mentality.
It is now, when I first went the cowshed was still there in soi boukaw, long gone now with all the new builds, new bars. Went from a small port to building complex in a few decades.
I'm up near udon thani
