In the US, it's Korean American Day today. It is a day to honor and highlight the immeasurable contributions that Korean Americans have made here as small business owners, military service members, faith leaders, doctors, artists, and elected officials since 1903. Of course it is also worth mentioning the cultural and culinary contributions of those from the past and present. I am proud to be Korean American and I hope to raise my kids to be so as well. Albeit Korean pastries are an amalgation of many different cultures, I made them for my kids to celebrate this day that acknowledges our existence in this country. Cheers!
