In a few week the big cherry blossom spectacle will finally begin, but from about mid-March there is already a small prelude to enjoy. It might be a little less exciting and ubiquitous as Queen Sakura, but after the long and gray winter weeks it's just the right thing.
Ume, the plum blossom already dares to come out and lets us imagine what will happen here next month. The weather is still rather unstable, and sun and rain alternate. And often the tempeartures are still in the lower range, accompanied by a still quite sharp and cold wind.
All the more I appreciate that the Ume flower already has the courage to make an appearance. In various shapes and colors, it also manages to enter our hearts, as a true messenger of spring, announcing the final end of the long winter.
And just because we often need to really look out to find some plum blossoms, they are also something special. They are much harder to find than the cherry blossoms, which seem to be omnipresent soon. Even though only for a short time, of course.
I will therefore continue to keep my eyes open, perhaps I will encounter a few of the fragile beauties in the next few days. I will say hello to them then from you!

Bevor es in ein paar Wochen richtig los geht und das große Kirschblütenspektakel endlich beginnt, gibt es ab Mitte März schon einmal eine kleine Einstimmung. Zwar weniger aufregend und allgegenwärtig wie Königin Sakura, aber nach dem langen und grauen Winterwochen genau das richtige.
Ume, die Pflaumenblüte traut sich bereits jetzt heraus und lässt einen bereits erahnen, was denn hier nächsten Monat so abgehen wird. Das Wetter ist ja eher noch recht unbeständig, und Sonne und Regen wechseln sich gegenseitig ab. Und auch die Temperaturen sind eher noch im niedrigen Bereich zu verorten, begleitet von einem oft noch recht scharfen Wind.
Um so mehr weiß ich es zu schätzen, dass sich die Ume-Blüte bereits wagt, sich uns zu zeigen. In verschiedenen Formen und Farben schafft sie auch in unsere Herzen, als wahrer Frühlingsbote, der das endgültige Ende des langen Winters verkündet.
Und gerade weil man die Pflaumenblüten oft auch ziemlich suchen muss, sind sie fast schon wieder etwas besonderes. Sie sind viel seltener zu finden als die Kirschblüten, welche demnächst allgegenwärtig zu sein scheinen. Wenn natürlich auch nur für kurze Zeit.
Ich werde daher bereits jetzt weiter meine Augen aufhalten, vielleicht begegnen mir ja in den nächsten Tagen noch ein paar der zarten Schönheiten. Ich werde sie dann von euch grüßen!
