Hopefully, most of us will have realized by now that our world can be wonderful and attractive. For my part, I have been able to convince myself about this repeatedly on my larger and smaller tours that I have made in different parts of our planet so far and I have been amazed again and again at how diverse life around us can be.
Well, it doesn't always have to be the big screen, sometimes a very small one in your own neighborhood is enough to show you the magic and fascination of our world. That's why I'm happy about every little tour I get to take in familiar surroundings, as there's almost always something new to discover. And sometimes the confirmation of the known and familiar is enough to make me feel warm and cozy and put me in a good mood.
Just recently I was feeling like that. On a short excursion, we stopped at a small park that I had already driven past once before. It's a little hidden away on a small hill with a small lookout tower on top. And if you climb up, you have a nice view over our town as far as the sea and can take a look at the surroundings from above.
Well, I have to admit that the view is not as spectacular as that from the Eiffel Tower or the Empire State Building. But as I mentioned before, this little tower is more about making sure you know what you have here in this city, and this place was just perfect for this very purpose.
I knew exactly where I was and was quickly able to make out a few landmarks in the sea of houses in front of me, which quickly located me even more precisely. Although the city around us may look a little unremarkable, it is the place where we live and laugh. And from time to time we need to acknowledge that, as it does us good and gives us strength and support. It worked for me too and I was glad to have stopped here and taken a look. And I reckon that at sunset, the sky should look even more spectacular from up here. Let's see, maybe we'll stop by here again. After all, we now know where to look.....

Das unsere Welt wunderbar und schön sein kann, werden die meisten von uns zu diesem Zeitpunkt hoffentlich bereits selber festgestellt haben. Ich für meine Teil konnte mich auf meinen größeren und kleinen Touren, die ich bisher in verschiedenen Teilen unseres Planeten gemacht habe, davon wiederholt überzeugen und habe dabei immer wieder gestaunt, wie abwechslungsreich doch das Leben sein kann.
Nun ja, es muss nicht immer das ganz große Kino sein, manchmal reicht auch eine ganz kleine Leinwand in der eigenen Nachbarschaft, die einen den Zauber und die Faszination unserer Welt zeigen tut. Daher freue ich mich auch über jede noch so kleine Runde, die ich in mir eigentlich bekannten Umgebungen drehen darf, gibt es dabei doch fast immer auch etwas Neues zu entdecken. Und manchmal reicht auch schon die Bestätigung des Bekannten und Vertrauten aus, damit sich warm und wohlig fühlt und gute Laune bekommt.
So ähnlich war es vor Kurzem, als wie bei einem kleine Ausflug bei einem kleinen Park anhielten, an welche in zuvor bereits einmal mit dem Auto vorbeigefahren bin. Ein wenig versteckt liegt er auf einem kleinen Hügel, auf dem ein kleiner Aussichtsturm steht. Und wenn man diesen erklimmt hat man eine nette Aussicht über unsere Stadt bis zum Meer hin, und kann sich die Umgebung ein wenig von oben anschauen.
Nun ja, zugegeben, der Blick ist nicht so spektakulär wie vom Eifelturm oder vom Empire State Building. Aber wie zuvor erwähnt, geht es hier auf diesem kleinen Turm eher darum, sich dem zu vergewissern, was man hier in dieser Stadt hat, und dafür eignete sich dieser Ort dann doch ganz gut.
Ich wusste genau wo ich bin, und konnte schnell ein paar Orientierungspunkte im Häusermeer vor mir ausmachen, die mich schnell genauer verorteten. Auch wenn die Stadt um uns herum ein wenig unscheinbar aussieht, ist es doch der Ort, wo wir wohnen, leben und lachen. Und sich dessen ab und an zu bestätigen, tut einfach gut und gibt dabei Kraft und Halt. Bei mir hat es auch gewirkt und ich war doch froh, hier angehalten und vorbei geschaut zu haben. Bei Sonnenuntergang sollte der Himmel von hier oben noch ein wenig spektakulärer ausschauen. Mal sehen, vielleicht kommen wir ja noch einmal hier vorbei. Wir wissen ja jetzt, wo wir zu suchen haben.....
