Hi blurt, introduce my name @akiyoshi, I come from one of the islands in Indonesia that is Aceh. My hobbies hear music, travel, and also hang out ...
The culture in Indonesia is very diverse, but there are some cultures that are born out of habit. Suppose the culture does not care (ignorant). This culture was born due to many factors, one of which is the lack of strict punishment from the government and the ignorance of others.
Mutilating Writing
Some of our community members still commit plagiarism and 'mutilate' other people's writings. Even a friend's own writing without permission and without including the source of the writing.
This happens because the culture of ignorance has taken root. We feel there will be no problem when we copy a friend's work and post without including the source. Many of us actually write and produce our own work. Although the quality is still very low, it is still an original work. So when a friend copies the work without permission, the author becomes uncomfortable and a split can occur.
We should continue to learn to write our own works even though the writing or the language used is still not good or there are many mistakes, but we can be proud of it because it is an original work.
Copying Rules
I just want to suggest to community friends to remind each other, because even though the writing belongs to a friend, that doesn't mean it can be copied without permission. It could be because it can cause estrangement in relationships within the community.
Actually there are no rules on how to copy people's writings, it's just that other people's writings can be used as references. But still you have to write your own content, don't copy without thinking.
Even references, if possible, include a link at the end of the article so that you are not considered plagiarism. Everything that you put into writing that is not your own must include the source.
Get used to asking permission
As I stated above, most of us feel that a friend's work can be copied because the friend will not be angry. But this does not apply in steemit. Because unlike other social media where you can freely write without restrictions, in steemit we have to really write without plagiarism.
In each of my writings the words plagiarism are very often discussed, because this is strictly prohibited. But we as fellow steemian friends still have to ask for permission if we want to copy a friend's work. And keep writing sources or writing references.
Problems Keep Coming
Sometimes the problem is not between the owner of the article and the person who copied the article. The two of them could be friends. However, there is a third party who reports to steemit that there is plagiarism activity so that even though the owner of the article does not have a problem the writing is copied by his own friend, the steemit party will still monitor your account for plagiarism.
So you have to be careful because there are parties who take advantage of every opportunity. Hopefully we can remind each other and give each other advice.
