But the message is good, when asked by the disembodied voice in the sanctuary what he would have as his reward for such a virtuous and dedicated life, Aquinas could only say "Nothing, if not you, Lord."
I don't have that kind of standing, at least not on my own. I am still disordered. I am still a wretch. If I make it out of this life with only the Lord, I'll be happy.
That of course, is the understatement of all eternity.
