Greetings, everyone!
Beautiful weather on Sunday, and a great idea to take out my bike and ride towards a special place...
I knew for a long time about this special place that very close to my house. I always wanted to visit it, but so far, there was never the time time for it.
Without any other better ideas, yesterday I remember about the memorial cemetery for british airmans that gave their lifes during the WW2. The place is located on a busy road, but in a very nice area at the end of a dense forest.
90 mans of the British Comonwealth found their peace at the end of a long jurney in the summer of 1944. From their fire birds, they brought dead for thousands on the ground.
Reading their tombstone was very emotional. Young mans, from many corners of the world: UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada. Many in their early 20s.
What left me without words, most of the stones had words from their families. Many from mother and father... Written with a calm difficult to understand from somebody that lost their sons at such an early age. And yet, I recognised that it was the normality of those days... So sad!
RIP
