My brother and I played disc golf after lunch at the Dry Creek eighteen hole disc golf course. I was having a good round and scored a +1 (60 throws). My brother was having a bit of an issue with the wind and scored a +34 (93 throws).
Some notes on scoring disc golf: the smaller the score on a round the better. Par for this course is 59 throws you play all the holes. Usually par on the course is designed so that a good player can get par.
Players who play in tournaments can get ratings based on how well they play courses that other proficient players play. In this case the higher the player rating the better the player they are.
Courses can get ratings too based on their difficulty. My guess is that a player rated over 850 should be able to score at par on the Dry Creek course under good conditions, so the course is probably rated somewhere around 850.
My player rating is around 830 and I was having a good round today so I scored +1 over par.
One of my better throws today went past the basket on an 367 foot hole. If my aim was better it would have been a birdie. It feels nice to be able to throw just a bit farther than before.
