I AM A SOLDIER

Today, I remember the world of ours
That undulates from light to dark
And has its 24 hours unevenly divided
Into half vision and half illusion
I remember North America, South America, Europe,
Australia, Asia, Antarctica
Including the land of the Black known as Africa
I remember the inventors
Of guns, bombs and missiles
The toys that has sent millions of innocent lives
Like text messages into the sacred realm of no return…
I remember those poor children
Whose playground have become battlefields
I remember those mothers who held
Their breasts in grief loss of their infants and Husband
Today I remembered all
Because those memories haven’t blurred

I conjured my consciousness between countless candles and cup
poured out my heart completely into clouds
Confidently, competently this is who I chose to be.

My heart travails and goals were birthed in selflessness, freedom and in service to my nation, this is who I chose to be.

I am a Soldier
I train to keep fit, I speak to bring peace
And I'll fight to create peace
For confidence and respect.
I do not see death as a threat
but as an obstacle that I must cross
to become a Valaint Compatriots
who's name shall never fade

I am the sound thousand boots, matching as one.
the scars of lost battles and victory we have won.
I am your brother, your one true friend
And to you, I'll give myself until the end

Let us take time to remember
Our fallen heroes now survived by names
and medals...
some whose neck now adorn by roses petals
on 6 by 4 feet underground apartment
and those
whose beaten battered blown bodies became a message of fowl stench sent to god as burnt offering.

Remember
those army of nameless citizens
who says amen
at the prayers of guns, bombs and ambush
hoping someone somewhere remember to tell God to take them home

Remember
those daughters of missing mothers
and sons of murdered men
And those whose name you now write
On water and seashores

And may all our good deed live in and not live out
The labor of our heroes past, never been in vain

all sector, military, para military, civil populace, NGO, igo lets come together and fight insecurity. No one is out enemy, the enemy here is insecurity which all of us must fight. Let's share information, lets work hand in hand, because together we can fight this enemy called insurgency/terrorism.
