Depression | The State of Mind
Depression is that state of mind, the lowest of the lowest levels that we can get, where there is no flicker of hope, no light, no help, and no one. We get there alone and remain trapped in our minds over there.
It is a black room with no windows, no lights, and with no doors. The ones who get there feel that that is the end of the line and nothing can be done. But, remember, something indeed can be done.
The illusion that we are in a dark room is created by that part of the mind that we have honed too long. It is just as simple as standing up and asking the mind to back off. That’s when the fog lifts and you will see, there was no room. You were free all the while.
While such a suggestion may seem to hurt the person in depression and appear that we are trivializing what they are going through, the intention is not to do that. Instead, it is just the opposite.
Your Life is Conditioned!
Depression is a state of mind and not a physical limitation on us. The mere realization, at times, can do wonders to relieve ourselves from the chains of nothing. It is indeed “nothing” holding us but our condemnation that makes us a captive in our own mind.
While it is difficult to shake it off when we are in the middle of the strong episode but remembering that it is just an episode waiting to play out, will help us come back to a better state lot faster.
It can be overwhelming when we are experiencing depression to think of things to do, so it is better to plan out an escape route when we are in a better state. One of the things that work is movement. Most of the episodes happen when we are in a non-mobile state and movement shakes off the shackles literally. Try consciously taking a walk at such times. In fact, do it even at times you sense you are going down on energy. It lifts the energy level and allows focus elsewhere.
Like all else, we are destined to win and so is our victory in the face of our lowest state of energy is guaranteed. Keep this in mind and store it well so that it emerges to support you when you are in a dark state.
Victory is Yours!
