It's the longest day of the year, and my new backyard garden is full of growing green plants! Here in Northern BC Canada, I'm able to take photographs by sunlight past 10pm in June! First up is this yard update shot, showing the garden tonight just after watering:
Starting at the back in those round gardens on either side of the firepit, I have some carnival squash:
And quite a lot of sunflowers:
The honeybees come to my yard to visit these little pink flowers:
They grow on this attractive ground cover:
Now to the main gardens! Starting with the swiss chard which is very low:
And these green peas which are getting quite high:
Check out all the different shades of green...
Thank you for visiting my garden! I have made it all by hand, with the "help" of my 3 year old son, one hour at a time. 10 weeks ago this was a frozen mossy lawn. I've spent nothing, and used seeds I collected in past years at other gardens. Every plant is organic - nothing but dirt, water, sunshine, and air. My previous update is here. I leave you with one more shot of the main garden beds:
Keep on growing!

Love those long days! Growing up in Denmark, it never got totally dark between about June 5th and July 10th; the northern horizon would be pink and orange at 1:00am and you could still see color in the dusk outside.
Now my wife and I live in western Washington; not quite as extreme but still loving the light!
Cool how you're doing your garden. Over the years, we've built raised beds, all from salvaged lumber we got for free and we always save seeds year to year... it has definitely been a learning experience, but a very rewarding one!
Cool, thanks for sharing your Danish perspective!
Keep on growing : ))
It is the shortest day of the year (in Australia) great to see the garden progressing well 👍.
Happy Winter Solstice for you, and my relatives in NZ.
Everywhere is green. I have been challenge and seeking for land to plant too before the rain is all gone for the season.
I hope you can locate the perfect piece of land to grow some food.
That's the situation, I trying to find a place close to my hoke so that checking it won't be difficult and supervision.
It is really growing! You can really see the difference. It grows very healthy! You are now a certified green thumb! Well-done! 👍
All types of vegetables are very beneficial for our body. We need to eat less than 500 grams per day. You are growing a very beautiful green vegetable..
