I have not bought a video game since Doom 3 in 2004 (18 years ago). This is mostly because I found most games became little more than fancy graphics, with very little actual gameplay, strategy, or open-endedness. If there is any gameplay at all, it is linear and predictable, mainly relying on cinematic scenes (like an animated film). I miss the video games of the 1980s and 1990s!
