What is healthier Salad or Meat? When it comes to salad, the word itself sounds healthy: light, quick, easy to digest. Yes, it's healthy for it has living enzymes. But a healthy balanced diet must include protein and protein helps building our muscle which we can get from meat. But did you know that there are other source of protein like fish, eggs , and legumes which you can substitute if you are eating plant base diet?
Could it be the lack of protein is the main cause of why older people have muscle loss problem? I believe it is possible to regain muscle or build muscle mass at the age of 50 or older. There should be a major focus on nutrition and diet to build muscle mass. Make sure you are consuming proper amount of protein for this is critical in muscle development. Now we know, after all legumes is our muscles best friend.
So are you plant base or a meat lover? We have preference. I can eat meat but as possible if I have a choice then I opt for plant base because I feel good and light. But there are also times when I crave for meat. So it's really depends on what you prefer. Just keep the balance, like yin-yang. It's OK to crave for shit food sometimes and make sure you get back in the right track.
Another advantage of salad is that it's easy to prepare for there is no need of cooking. You just have to decide what veggies or fruits you like to toss into your salad bowl.
