Bilao of Native Philippine Desserts

One of the Filipinos' favorite is to eat again after having a heavy meal 😀 . In this blog I’ll show you the different native desserts that we love to eat especially after meal. We refer to this as KAKANIN. It is one of the traditional Filipino desserts. We will put this in a so called “Bilao” –it’s a woven fan-shaped basket used to dry rice grains.
It has “Palitaw” - a dish consists of rice flour, coconut pulp, sugar, and sesame seeds, makes up this yummy and chewy kakanin. It also includes “Kutchinta”- a brown rice cake made with lye water and coconut pulp or in certain cases they use cheddar cheese instead of coconut pulp. “Puto cheese and puto flan” are included as well. Puto cheese is made of all-purpose flour, granulated white sugar, baking powder, fresh milk, vanilla, cheddar cheese, and water are the ingredients used to make puto cheese. In “Puto Flan” it has the same ingredients with puto cheese but the only difference is the bottom part of it which is made of “leche flan” where is it made of egg yolk, condensed milk and evaporated milk.

That's it for now and I'll see you again in my next blog! To my viewers, thank you so much!
