Champorado o chocolate rice porridge is a traditional breakfast and snacks for most Filipinos. It is made with sticky rice, and pure cacao tablets. But yesterday i cooked champorado as snacks for my kids. I only used plain rice since no sticky rice available. But it is still rich, creamy and chocolatey.
My kids loved it so much especially if i put condensed milk or cream in it to add its flavor. It is such a good treat for them. This food had a special part of my childhood too. One that i have fondest memories and it reminds me of my Nanay (grandmother), who always called us every afternoon to have a taste of her champorado.
