The St. Isidore the Labourer fiesta celebration is a joyous occasion, honoring the patron saint of farmers and laborers. This event brings together the local community in a spirit of gratitude and unity, paying tribute to the hard work and dedication of those who labor the land.
The festivities start with a solemn mass, celebrated by our beloved parish priest Father Joel M. Bonza, MSC., where prayers are offered for the abundant harvest and blessings upon the laborers.
The aroma of freshly cooked dishes fills the air, attracting visitors to satisfy in the flavorsome offerings. We prepared different kinds of tasty foods such as pancit, lumpia, escabeche (fish in sweet and sour sauce), buttered shrimp, paklay, chicken guisado, a tasty and crunchy lechon and some desserts.
My father do the blessings of food as usual, with his heartfelt prayers and with a deep sense of gratitude, expresses his appreciation for the nourishment before us. He asks for blessings upon the hands that prepared the food and the farmers who toiled to bring it to our table. And everyone enjoyed the foods!
The fiesta serves as a time for the community to come together, to celebrate their shared values of hard work, perseverance, and faith. It is a moment to honor St. Isidore's legacy and seek his intercession for continued blessings upon the laborers and the land they cultivate.
The school organized a field demonstration that showcased the talents of the students and my nieces actively joined this activity.
