Elon Takes Twitter, What's Next?

Elon Musk has purchased Twitter for around $44 Billion which will have serious ramifications for free speech on mainstream social media businesses. As a result of this purchase, Democrats and Progressives are worried that their safe space and echo chambers will now be destroyed as more and more conservative, and right-wing voices, will likely be allowed to return to the platform.

Although, not much has changed on the platform, the general public is eager to see the changes on Twitter, regardless if they think they are good or bad changes. Radical progressive groups have pushed for efforts to Boycott Twitter, where mostly Democrat and left-wing personalities have seen thousands in losses to their followers list. Some believe that those decreases may also be from bot accounts being removed from Twitter but nothing has been officially announced by Twitter's employees. On the other hand, Republicans and right-wing voices have seen increases in their followers which will likely shake-up the political discourse on the platform.

Mainstream media is absolutely losing their minds over it where propaganda networks like CNN, MSNBC and ABC News have committed to nothing but a negative perspective on this purchase. It's very apparent that many of their journalists as well hold very negative views regarding Elon Musk too.

With Elon at the helm, people suspect that free speech will return to the platform and also cryptocurrency may play a big role in the future as well. There is still a lot of speculation regarding Dogecoin and SHIB. Many enthusiasts believe that Elon will make one of these two tokens a tipping currency for users on Twitter, yet nothing has been confirmed.

The next major step, or minor, depending how you look at it, will likely be changes to quality of life improvements such as an edit button and other features. As these changes are the easiest to implement in such a huge site. Yet, there is still more speculation of wider and far-reaching advancements. What do you think is next for Twitter under Elon Musk?
