Yesterday, June 27, 2023, hospital staff and employees of Camotes District Hospital had a Fire and earthquake drill which was conducted by San Francisco Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office. It is one of our annual activity which happens every June.
Earthquakes and fire suddenly appear, violently and without warning. The hospital has staff incharge or committees who make sure that we have identified potential hazards, planned on what we have to do so that we can reduce the dangers of serious injury or loss of life from an earthquake and fire crisis.
This drill is a life-protection learning for all of us, especially we are not just dealing with our own self but also to our patients. It was a very upbuilding activity that would ensure the safety of the patients, staffs, and visitors within the hospital premises.
For those are not yet aware, there are phases of fire and earthquake drill. These are the Alarm, Response, Evacuation, Assembly, Head Count or Roll Call and the Evaluation.
If you can encounter an earthquake, you may stand under the door frame. Move away from windows, glass, light fixtures, bookshelves, or any structure that could fall on you. “Duck, cover and hold” under sturdy tables if present, or you can go to open space or open field.
Well, a drill won't be complete if without some memes or bloopers. I have here some of their cute pictures during the trial.
