• We use a load balancing system that I designed for Steemit, inc in 2016. It was approved by @dan but @sneak rejected it when he came on as CTO. Sneak said that he could not sleep unless steem was running on AWS. This load balancer allows us to have significantly lower costs than they ever did. When I say significantly lower, I think I mean about like 3% of what they were paying, maybe less.

Tech vs Hive:

• Hive is a continuation of the steem blockchain, a true fork.
• Blurt is a totally new method of executing a governance change fully implemented by @baabeetaa.

how do I know for sure our snapshot system is great?

• First of all if it wasn't great or the market wasn't comfortable with it, our our project would not have market value. So the simple fact that we have retained market cap at all, shows market acceptance of this technique.

• NBS used exactly the same technique to improve governance on bit shares. They were able to create a new clean slate with its own new rules without damaging the original chain.
