Making Fun Of Yourself - It's Crazy!

in dcc •  2 years ago

I don't know who else does this but I've encountered a lot of people who do it and I do make fun of myself a lot of times too. Being on my own and laughing at something I did, it gets crazy sometimes but I love the feeling I get from doing it.

Not until recently, I had never thought there are benefits for making fun of oneself... Do you know about that too? Well, I found out about it and I'll be sharing them with you today.

It can be crazy sometimes to just start laughing at something you did maybe wrongly or just smile at yourself or making funny faces and burst into laughter... It's crazy but I bet you that you're amazing that way!

You're having fun building your self esteem

How do one builds self esteem with having fun? I can't really say but one of the best ways is by laughing over your mistakes that would normally break you or cause a low self esteem for you. Making mistakes is normal but they can affect one very negatively sometimes.

Well, not for those who make fun of themselves in most situations especially when they make a mistake.

While you make fun of the mistake so they don't hurt you too much, you get to do better next time and be a better version with a higher self esteem.

Having fun building your social connections

I saw a movie where a lady fell off her sit in a bus, she got up and began to laugh at herself... It was a crazy situation but every other person joined her in laughing to an extent that they forgot what had caused the laugher in the first place. The lady got new friends that way, they seem attracted to her sense of humour.

Making fun of yourself in public makes it way harder for people to criticize or laugh at you for something. People don't get see your fears or weakness when you make fun of some situations that would have warranted them to criticize you.

Well, there are situations where one shouldn't make fun of oneself, you should be a bit serious sometimes 😅

Having fun to staying healthy

We may have all know that laughter reduces stress and keeps the doctor away so adding this to the list of things to have fun will help you stay healthy.

When we laugh at our mistakes, we reduce the stress those mistakes will cause on us and during those times, we get to learn from them and avoid it happening again.

Avoid negative talks, stay positive about yourself while you make fun of yourself. Being crazy is cool, just don't get too crazy 😅

There are other benefits of making fun of yourself so you might wanna start doing that if you don't do it before 😂 and remember to get serious sometimes too, some people at some places don't like it when you're being playful all the time.

I was going through the humour tags and found this amazing post titled IF YOU CAN MAKE IT THERE YOU CAN MAKE IT EVERYWHERE! by @erh.germany where he shared a lot about life, the online world and care.

When I was tired of cognitive work in the offices (the most boring places on earth),
I welcomed the opportunity to get my hands on things. I worked at fares where I walked many kilometers a day and did the dishes and the service for the visitors. It was a fulfilling job in its own way. Same with peeling hundreds of eggs and other labor works I did in my past. Selling hovercrafts, for examples. Working behind the bar. Planting flowers in the heat of the desert day in the garden of the riches.
Those seemingly stupid jobs can be the most fun if you don't let it happen to pity yourself. You get tired as hell but on the other hand your brain stops overthinking.

It's a good read and I would employ that you do read the post too, it's lesson filled and has a touch of humor to it too.

Thanks for reading!!!

Thank you, I appreciate the mention.
What do you do or have done in terms of jobs which were of a more physical nature?

When I was a secretary sometime ago, it was both interesting and annoying... Had to please a boss that never wanted to be pleased 😑 I stopped working just three months after I started, that particular physical work wasn't for me.

What about you?

I've done many jobs besides those I have already listed. Maybe I will make some life experience post on those other ones.
May I ask from which country you are?

I would love to read about them 😊
I'm Nigerian, not a proud one 😅
