For this year 2021, my goal is to diversify my holdings. And for a few months now, I've been looking at Cosmos ($ATOM) and I've been trying to find an entry point. When I first saw it last January, the price was around $6. Now, it's currently trading at $19. The price went 6x since then.
Did I make a poor choice not to invest right away when it was cheaper? Not really, I was actually distracted by Akash Network's $AKT ;)
For me, it's a good distraction. I started buying this token at $0.73 which is already trading at $5.50, what a relief!
Anyway, since I'm already with my staked $AKT, I felt that it's about time to build a new position on another token; $ATOM is the best choice for me.
I just bought my first tokens in Binance. If I'm not biased enough, I think that Binance offers the best experience in trading crypto. It's fast, efficient, and user-friendly.
Anyway, here are the factors that made me take the first step in the Cosmos venture:
- Tendermint BFT
- Cosmos SDK
- IBC
These are the most powerful aspect of Cosmos.
Also:
- 1500+ developers in the ecosystem and many thousand contributors
- not only is the interoperability first mover but is years ahead of alternatives in the space
Here's what I'm excited about:
- Gravity DEX launching in April 2021; bringing massive utility to $ATOM
Since I've been stacking coins under the Cosmos Hub umbrella, I think that the Gravity DEX will bring all Blockchains geared to IBC closer with each other.
Any network that has IBC enabled will use the gravity dex for swaps & liquidity.

It's not a wonder why there is strong support from the community.
Lastly, as I have been holding & growing my Blurt stake, I will be eligible for the Spark airdrop this coming April as well. I'm guessing that Jacob is targeting the launch of Spark blockchain to align with the Gravity DEX launch, awesome!
My hope is that the Spark blockchain will tap into IBC & Gravity DEX to get more exposure among other Cosmos Hub chains.
What I said about Spark blockchain are my assumptions... please don't take it as financial advice.
Anyway, I will be posting more updates about my journey... soon!
