Chinese craftsmen managed to hack PlayStation 5 and adapt it for mining Etherium cryptocurrency.
Judging by the published image, the console's mining performance is 98.76 MH/s (megaches per second) with a power consumption of 211W. This is achieved on an AMD Ryzen processor with Zen 2 architecture, AMD Radeon-based GPU with RDNA 2 architecture and performance of 10.3 teraflops.
The graphics console is equal to the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card, and its cryptocurrency mining power of 50 MH/s. Perhaps, enthusiasts from China not only bypassed the system, but also overclocked the gaming console hardware.
Experts say this is a very good result, which will probably lead to an even greater shortage of PlayStation 5 in 2021 and will likely have a big impact on the price tag at resellers.
