Sunday Dinnerš¤¤
ā¢Home cooked meal is always the best! Try the linaga style of cebuanos, Linat-ang Baboy of Cebu and see how it differs from the regular linaga we always cook. Great soup recipe for any cold weather.
ā¢Linat an is a boiled pork soup dish that resembles Pork Nilaga. Although both dishes might sound the same, there are notable differences that can help us distinguish one from the other.
The name "linat-an" literally means "boiled until very tender". It can also be used generally to refer to other types of stews, including those made with beef or chicken.
INGREDIENTS:
ā¢Ā½ kl. pork
ā¢Sayote
ā¢Sweet Corn
ā¢Pechay
ā¢Tomatoes
ā¢Ginger
ā¢Chili Green
ā¢Onion
ā¢This is a simple boiled pork soup or pork stew..."Linat-ang baboy" in our own dialect and "Nilagang baboy" in tagalog. This dish is nearly similar to pork pochero that my family loves to eat too.
ā¢Linat-an Recipe is a satisfying, filling and very delicious Filipino soup dish that is very popular in Cebu and Mindanao, it is simple and easy to prepare.
Linat-an is like Nilagang Baboy, it is boiled until the pork is tender, although both dishes have the same cooking process but with different ingredients that distinguish one from the other. Linat-an is more like Sinigang na Baboy without a souring agent and it makes use of red bell pepper, tanglad leaves (lemongrass), gabi (taro root), and sitaw ( string beans). The tanglad leaves enhances the aroma and the flavor of the soup while the gabi makes the soup thicker and more flavorful.
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large pot, add enough water to boil pork, onions, ginger, . Bring it to a boil and just let it simmer until pork becomes tender for about an hour.
When the pork is tender, add the sayote and the sweet corn. Let it cook until it becomes tender.
Add the Pechay and the Chili green.
Serve and Enjoy.
