Aside from being a great tasting dish, Chicken tinola offers good nutritional value.

While we can't pinpoint the time and place, the dish has been a part of Filipino cuisine for centuries. Some sources say it started in the 1800s. In addition, many people believe that tinola evolved from several indigenous cooking techniques and Spanish culinary practices.

The chicken in this flavorful dish provides an excellent source of protein and is considered a complete protein as it contains all of the essential amino acids the body needs to build muscle mass, body cells and tissue. Chicken is also a great source of magnesium, potassium, and B vitamins.

Poultry chicken are genetically bred to grow quickly and fast. But the downside is that they have a lot of fats inside them. Whereas, Native Chicken have lower fat content as their diet consists mainly of corn, and aren’t necessarily given antibiotics unless to treat and prevent diseases.
