Coffee Meets ☕️
The morning coffees are back folks. I've cracked opened one of the packs of Dadak Rocca that I brought back from the Czech Republic. It's such a strong and dark roast that I only need one spoon of it to make a satisfyingly rich cup to go with my breakfast. On average, I now have one cup (or a maximum of two) a day, usually in the morning. In cafe's I now usually drink herbal tea 😅. I know, I've gone soft. haha.
On this day, however, I did have some coffee at the cafe. It was my first time there and I wanted to taste the coffee. The smell was amazing and I loved the ambiance. They also had nice big windows, with sitting, which is the perfect setup for me. I can chose to either work, or people-watch. LOL. I think on this day I did more of the latter to be honest.
Spending time at a cafe alone is fun, especially if I'm there to work, but at times I really enjoy meeting friends and having a good chat over coffee. Usually, however, it's more difficult to do because I usually have time when others are at work. I'm also usually unavailable to socialise during the weekend. This means I hardly ever meet people for coffee.
Ironically, during the lockdowns, I "met up" with more people than I do now. Firstly, most people were not at work during the day - since they had to stay home. Secondly, I wasn't meeting them in person. They were virtual meet ups via video conferencing - Skype, FaceTime, Instagram or WhatsApp. I never used Zoom for whatever reason. We'd have our drinks, usually coffees or teas, and just sit and talk for hours. It was a time when I got back in contact with people I hadn't spoke to for years prior. Sadly, now that we're out again, the contacts have vanished once again.
I miss those lockdown days for that one reason. We had a lot more time for each other because all the stuff that kept us busy was taken away. Having a common enemy also meant people were more likely to band together and be good to each other. With that gone, we have mostly relapsed to our old ways. I've said to myself that I will keep meeting people in real life. Face time is by far superior to FaceTime, that's for sure ☕️
Peace & Love,
Adé
