BEHIND PHYSICAL BEAUTY
Whenever a man dumps a lady for another woman, people usually expect to see him with another prettier lady. But most times, the reverse is the case.
Most often, the question that arises in such scenario, especially if the first one is prettier than the second one is: what really went wrong?
Lucky dube, in one of his songs, was asked by his mother about his marriage and he said, "....I did not know that behind the beauty lies the true colour that will destroy the marriage in the near future."
I want to look into one of the causes of broken relationship. One behavior that is a threat to a healthy relationship or marriage is "I know it all syndrome".
In our colloquial language we say..."Over Sabi or I too know".
People with this attitude argue more than necessary and hardly retain relationships.
One statement I always smile at whenever I hear it is..."Someone will love you the way you are". For me, it's funny!
Since the first time I have heard it, I am yet to see a normal person fall in love with a mental disorder person. Interestingly, people go for the best.
It's unfortunate, that most women focus more on their physical beauty than inner beauty, forgetting that a person is measured by the content of his/her character as Martin Luther King Jr said in one of his revolutionary speeches.
The point I am making is: as a lady, physical beauty can attract as many men as a you wish, but it is only character can keep any of them for something meaningful. A woman with "Over Sabi attitude" hardly keep a man.
No man would wish to marry a woman he would argue with all the days of his life.
The primary aim of marriage is happiness and it can only be achieved when a man can align with his wife in everything.
Though this behavior can also be found in some men. Men with this attitude hardly listen to their wives, until they make mistakes.
One ugly thing about this behavior is that people with it are too egocentric, and will rather prove someone wrong in any case than to say Sorry. Interestingly, they hardly change because they believe they are always right.
Every realistic new year resolution begins with personal development.
