Rumuelechi community is really benefiting from RSUST, as long as you are a citizen of Rumuelechi, you are paying half of the normal payment for school fees. So that has really reduce cost for people in the community for the past few years now.

Eagle Island

The Community also own an island called eagle island, they own lands there and also there is a river in this place with fishes in it. Construction companies comes to the river to dig sands and they do compensate the community for it.

Nkpolu Community School

This is an achievement gotten years back, not only Rumuelechi community, but it was a collective effort of Nkpolu oroworukwu kingdom. The kingdom is made up of 5 communities namely; Rumuobasi, Rumuelechi, Rumuogbuji,Rumuokokwu and oroabolu.

Together they founded Nkpolu Community secondary school where their children can go and learn wyruithout paying any fees.

Festivals

Rumuelechi community mainly observes two festivals which are the New Yam festival and Egelege festival.

New Yam festival

This is the celebration of the new yam, this festival is celebrated to thank the god of the land for a successful harvest.

It is celebrated within 7 days, from the 1st day to the fourth day, there will be entertainments and games, the fifth day, There will be lots and lots of cultural displays.

The 6th day is the arrival of the new yam, whereby the king will be the one to bless the yam and also takes the first bite. After that, there will be a lot of merrying and jubilation for the rest of the day.

The last day is for thanks giving, which always fall on Sunday, the community goes to the community's church, St John's Catholic church to give thanks to God, for a successful festival.

Egele Festival

This festival is a wrestling festival, we observe the festival during December periods where we invites neighbouring communities to wrestle with us. The aim of this festival is to unite our community with other communities.
