POEM: PRICE OF MY FREEDOM

Bones breaking and veins bursting with blood,
Bowed head and lowered eyes,
Tears dropping, weakened by my soulful cries;
The price of my freedom.

My pain you should never imagine,
My foot I have left behind,
What good are two feet in eternal immobility?
The price of my freedom.

Two options of FEAR I considered;
Forget Everything And Remain,
Face Everything And Rise.
I choosed the price of my freedom.

There I go, sorrowfully away from this spot,
Away from the shackles that held
my foot.
Into a world of liberty and freedom,
Because I have paid the price.
